Obverse with bust of Ferdinand VII above date 1808, legend FERNANDO. VII / DEI GRATIA; reverse with winged angel holding palm frond and wreath with one foot standing on globe, legend PROCLAMADO EL DIA XII DE AGOSTO DE 1808 •, with MTo. at bottom. AU grade with reworked devices, chased and hairlined fields to bring out details, which are also accentuated by reddish toning in crevices. Numismatically important as the third and largest design for Ferdinand VII Montevideo proclamation medals, with proper bust as opposed to that of Charles IV.
